Chasing after w i n d … .. … . . .
The field is spacious and grand.
The sun is shining warmly on my face. The wind straightens my hair. “No, I cannot see it, but I know it is there because I can feel it! I will seek it.” Wind is desirable. It’s lovely. Weaving in and out the rays of the sun. I spent years basking in this beauty that could not be seen. Begging it to caress my skin, and cursing it when it didn’t. I’ve endured years of numbness. And now that my skin is calloused, my hair is matted I can see well enough to understand what I’ve been doing all this time.
I thought to myself, “Look, I have grown and increased in wisdom more than anyone who has ruled over Jerusalem before me; I have experienced much of wisdom and knowledge.” Then I applied myself to the understanding of wisdom, and also of madness and folly, but I learned that this, too, is a chasing after the wind. – Ecclesiastes 1:16-17
